West Ham are waiting for the green light from Chelsea to sign off a £4m Aaron Cresswell Wolves deal claims a journalist.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have been waiting to complete a deal with West Ham for Aaron Cresswell and Chelsea hold the key it seems.
Although the Hammers have desperately needed young, modern new full-backs for several years, it came as something of a surprise when news broke of interest from Wolves in Cresswell recently.
West Ham are said to be targeting young Chelsea star Ian Maatsen as a replacement.
And West Ham have been refusing to sanction Cresswell’s move to Wolves until they meet the left-back’s asking price.

West Ham boss David Moyes waiting for Chelsea to green light Ian Maatsen move to sign off £4m Aaron Cresswell Wolves deal
Long serving Cresswell is currently away from the first team after making a personal plea to co-owner David Sullivan to agree a deal with Wolves.
The likes of Adrien Truffert have also been linked with West Ham. But earlier this week a journalist claimed West Ham were confident of getting a deal done with Chelsea for Dutchman Maatsen.
Yesterday it was claimed Cresswell’s move to Wolves could be revived with the midlands club willing to pay £4m.
And it seems West Ham are waiting for the green light from Chelsea for a Maatsen move to sign off the £4m Cresswell Wolves deal claims a journalist.
Writing on his Patreon page, The Sun’s Alan Nixon suggests West Ham are favourites over Burnley to sign the 21-year-old – Chelsea star who is highly rated by Mauricio Pochettino. But it will most likely on loan.

Hammers ‘happy’ to loan Maatsen as Moyes waits on Chelsea before letting Cresswell leave
And if they get the go-ahead they will sanction Cresswell’s move to Wolves.
“Hammers are happy with a loan arrangement and would then let Aaron Cresswell go,” Nixon states.
“Burnley want other Premier loans so would have to decide which ones to take.”
New Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino previously publicly declared the Dutchman is in his future plans when speaking about Maatsen on the club’s official website.
Pochettino was so effusive in his praise of Maatsen it killed speculation stone dead with the player seemingly untouchable in this window.

Loan seems to be best Hammers can hope for with over £100m worth of competition for star
The Athletic had previously claimed West Ham could sign Maatsen for around £20 million from London rivals Chelsea.
But the latest reports suggested a loan with no option to buy is the best the Hammers could possibly hope for.
The big thing in West Ham’s favour is the fact Chelsea have two hugely expensive left-backs ahead of the youngster at Stamford Bridge.
In fact the Blues have over £100m worth of left-backs ahead of Maatsen in the pecking order in the shape of Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella.
