West Ham United fans look away now because yet another transfer deal has collapsed.

According to breaking news reports in France tonight, West Ham’s move for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma – which had been reported as close to completion – has fallen apart.

West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Zouma.

David Moyes had made the Frenchman his number one centre-back target this summer after Fabian Balbuena left West Ham.

West Ham failed in a move for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.

But hopes were high that the Hammers would sign Zouma after Sky Sports reported a £25m deal was close to completion.

West Ham insider ExWHUemployee made similar claims, saying the deal was further advanced than the move for Milenkovic ever was.

But yet again Moyes – the only manager in the Premier League who has not been able to bring in a new outfield player this summer – has been hit with a big blow in the transfer market.

TF1 and Get French Football News claim the deal has collapsed, despite a medical being booked, due to a disagreement between West Ham and Chelsea.

“Breaking: Kurt Zouma to West Ham is off, plug pulled entirely on deal, according to TF1,” GFFN reports.

“Medical was scheduled, but something between Chelsea and West Ham, rather than West Ham and Kurt Zouma, has resulted in the deal being called off.”

It is another bitter blow for Moyes who has only signed goalkeeper Alphonse Areola this summer.

With a jam-packed campaign of European and domestic football ahead, West Ham fans are understandably concerned about the lack of depth in the squad.

And Moyes admitted last week he needs to bring in signings, stating he was confident of signing a new centre-back.

In other news, ‘Mainstream media bias’ West Ham fans fume at headline and coverage.
