Ally McCoist and Gabby Agbonlahor tell transfer target Jesse Lingard to snub Newcastle for West Ham

Football pundits Ally McCoist and Gabby Agbonlahor tell transfer target Jesse Lingard to snub Newcastle for West Ham this month.

A large section of West Ham fans are sick and tired of the seemingly never-ending Lingard saga. Newcastle fans will soon get to know the feeling.

Hammers News has deliberately held off reporting on the drawn out Lingard affair of late, especially since Newcastle entered the running.

Biggest STAR Your Club Are Trying To SIGN This Month

But things took a twist last night which surely plays right into West Ham’s hands.

That’s IF David Moyes still wants the man who lit up east London on loan when he signed last January.

Lingard appears to have a straight choice between West Ham and Newcastle if he wishes to leave Manchester United on loan this month ahead of a free transfer in the summer.

That presents the midfielder with two very different propositions. A relegation battle to help save the newly crowned “world’s richest club” at Newcastle.

Or a battle for Champions League football with the Europa League knockout stages to look forward to at West Ham.

Many would accuse Lingard of chasing the money if he chooses Newcastle over West Ham.

Ally McCoist and Gabby Agbonlahor tell transfer target Jesse Lingard to snub Newcastle for West Ham

And former stars turned talkSPORT pundits Ally McCoist, Gabby Agbonlahor and Alan Brazil have all told Lingard to snub Newcastle for West Ham.

“He should have left in the summer,” Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT on Thursday morning.

“Why doesn’t he go to West Ham, they loved him,” Brazil interjects.

“I don’t understand these guys how he can have stayed there (Man United) in the summer. I know you want to back yourself to break into the Manchester United midfield but you’ve got (Bruno) Fernandes in front of you, (Paul) Pogba in front of you. Pogba’s been injured for the last two months and Lingard still can’t get a game. He still can’t even get on the pitch from the bench.

“For me he has to leave in January but… I don’t think he’ll go to Newcastle on loan. I think if he goes somewhere on loan he’s going to look at a West Ham, a team that’s fighting the opposite end of the table, not a relegation battle. He won’t want to go there (Newcastle).”

McCoist then had his say on the Lingard situation. Moyes’s fellow Scot said he likes to see players fight for their place but agreed with Agbonlahor that Lingard has to leave and should choose the Hammers over Eddie Howe’s Magpies.

“I’m old school, I like to see players roll their sleeves up and fight for their place in the team, however, I think that’s gone with Lingard (at Man United),” McCoist said on talkSPORT.

“He’s played a minute under (Ralf) Rangnick, he’s played 87 minutes in eight appearances under (Ole Gunnar) Solskjaer this season. Come on! He’s far too good a player.

“I’m with you Gab, I think it would be a move that would suit all parties going somewhere like West Ham. Does he want to go to Newcastle?! I don’t really think so to be honest with you.”

Let’s hope Jesse is listening. Decision day is on the horizon and we’ll all be put out of our misery sooner rather than later now.
