There are 48 hours of hope for West Ham after a Hammers insider’s hugely encouraging response to a new Filip Kostic claim.
West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Serbian assist king Kostic (Sky Sports).
The left-sided Eintracht Frankfurt star, who shone against West Ham in last season’s Europa League, shares the same agent – Alessandro Lucci – as £35m Hammers signing Gianluca Scamacca.
And West Ham were hoping a meeting between the player – who is out of contract next summer – and Lucci in Frankfurt on Friday would bring positive news for David Moyes this weekend.
West Ham’s plans looked to have taken a big hit, though, with the likes of Claret and Hugh claiming Kostic has turned down a move to the London Stadium.
“It seems we and any other club have missed out,” a West Ham source told Claret and Hugh at the weekend.
There was renewed – but cautious – optimism last night, though, when respected Italian ITK transfer reporter Alfredo Pedulla made a huge claim that Kostic could still sign for West Ham – and by Wednesday no less.
Pedulla states on his own website that Kostic has been offered to both Juventus and Inter Milan.
He claims that the Serie A sides have been given between 48-72 hours to make a decision. And if they elect not to sign Kostic then he will join West Ham.
In a further boost for the Hammers Pedulla describes Kostic as an “outsider” for a move to Juve or Inter, stating an agreement is already in place with West Ham.
Well it is one day down and two to go.
There are now 48 hours of hope for West Ham after an insider’s hugely encouraging response to the new Kostic claim.
While West Ham sit and wait in hope that neither Juve or Inter take up the offer of signing Kostic, a West Ham insider has confirmed to Claret and Hugh that there is new resolve from ‘persistent’ Moyes to get the top class 29-year-old signed.
“David Moyes has not entirely given up his hopes of signing Filip Kostic…” Claret and Hugh state.
“We have learned since (reporting that Kostic had snubbed the Hammers) that Moyes remains very keen to bring the player in and the club is attempting to put a deal together which could tempt the left sided midfielder.
“Moyes is persistent in the extreme when seriously fancying a player as was the case when landing Kurt Zouma from Chelsea after it looked as though he had missed out.”
According to Pedulla’s claim on Sunday, West Ham will have their answer one way or another by Wednesday.
So let’s keep everything crossed.
