Today could be the D-Day for David Moyes’ hopes of signing Filip Kostic after a Hammers insider’s hint at West Ham meeting.
It has been a fantastic week for West Ham on the transfer front after the signing of Gianluca Scamacca.
Moyes has finally ended his 18-month search for a striker with the £35m capture of the Italy’s forward.
It has been widely reported that assist king Kostic is next on West Ham’s wish list.
A host of sources have been claiming West Ham are closing in on agreeing a deal and terms with Eintracht Frankfurt star Kostic.
The likes of Fabrizio Romano claim the Hammers are pushing hard to get the move done.
The Hammers know all about the Serbian assist king’s talents having faced Kostic in the Europa League.
Kostic is represented by Italian agent Alessandro Lucci, the same man who looks after West Ham’s new striker Scamacca.
As is the way with the transfer window, there has been claim and counter claim over the last few days as to whether Kostic would be open to the move.
Or indeed whether Eintracht will cash in given the Serbian has entered the last year of his contract.
The Hammers are said to be willing to pay Kostic £120k per week to move to the London Stadium – almost three times the £43k per week he is on in Germany.
At 29 years of age West Ham are hoping that will prove too good to turn down alongside the chance to live in London and play in the best league in the world.
Indeed Sheth claims the Serbian assist king has already turned down two Champions League clubs as West Ham close in on a move.
“West Ham United still working on deal to sign Filip Kostic,” Sheth said on Twitter.
“Bid worth €15m (£12.3m) rejected by Eintracht Frankfurt. Valuation thought to be closer to €20m (£17m).
“Kostic already rejected two offers from clubs in CL. Kostic will consider West Ham if deal agreed.”
And today could be D-Day for Moyes’s Kostic signing hopes after an insider hinted at crunch West Ham meeting.
The pictures were of Kostic, his agent Lucci, a city view of Frankfurt and the message ‘Positive Friday’.
Now Whetstone has confirmed a meeting will take place between Kostic and Lucci in Frankfurt today (Friday) in a new post on Twitter.
“Crucial meeting between Filip Kostic and agent Alessandro Lucci in Frankfurt, Germany,” Whetstone said.
“The outcome will decide whether the left sided player is prepared to give up Champions League to move to London to play for West Ham.
“Hammers will look to double his current Bundesliga wages.”
West Ham fans will be desperately hoping for some more good news heading into the weekend.
