Aaron Ramsdale has just been tipped to join West Ham United from Arsenal in the January window.

West Ham need a new goalkeeper, and could turn to Arsenal stopper Aaron Ramsdale in the January transfer window – a player we actually tried to sign before he moved to the Emirates in the summer of 2021.

The Gunners paid £30 million to prise the 25-year-old away from Bournemouth two-and-a-half years ago (Sky Sports), but he now finds himself on the outside looking in after Mikel Arteta brought David Raya to the club.

Hammers boss David Moyes currently has Alphonse Areola, 30, and Lukasz Fabianski, 38, as his two first choice goalkeepers.

So the Scot definitely will need to make a new goalkeeper signing over the course of the next 6-12 months, and Ramsdale may well be the man for the job at the London Stadium.

Well, that’s what Stan Collymore thinks anyway…

Aaron Ramsdale tipped to leave Arsenal for West Ham

Collymore has suggested that the former Bournemouth man would be the ideal signing for Moyes at West Ham.

He told CaughtOffside:

“I wonder if West Ham might fancy him. They’ve got Alphonse Areola and Lukasz Fabianski as their two senior keepers but both are into their 30’s with the latter close to turning 40, so it seems a change in that position is coming sooner rather than later. Could Ramsdale be the man for Moyes – I think so, and I also think that’s one club that could offer him exactly what he’s looking for. The Hammers are a big enough club that their players are considered for international duties, they have had recent success in Europe, and by the manager’s own admission, are now aiming to establish themselves as a Champions League side — that seems like the perfect project for a player like Ramsdale.”

I’d be more than happy if West Ham signed the 25-year-old Gunners stopper this winter, but I just don’t think it will happen.

Moyes has far more pressing priorities this month than signing a new goalkeeper, that’s for sure.

I reckon that Arsenal stopper Aaron Ramsdale will end up either staying at the Emirates or joining another Premier League club in January.
