David Moyes has sent a strong message to the West Ham United fans ahead of tonight’s Europa League clash with Olympiacos.

West Ham are currently out in Athens for our match-day three Europa League Group A clash with Olympiacos, and David Moyes has been urging the traveling fans to behave.

The Hammers fans will be in attendance, after being banned from our previous away clash out in Freiburg because of the behaviour of a select few out in Prague for the Europa Conference League final.

However, the West Ham supporters had better be on good behaviour tonight, with UEFA allegedly just waiting to hand us another ban, should anything untoward happen out in Greece.

And Moyes spoke about that in detail when he addressed the media last night…

The Scot addressed the media out in Greece last night ahead of our vital Europa League clash with Olympiacos this evening.

And Moyes made it very clear that he wants every travelling Hammer out in Athens to be on their best behaviour tonight, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“We want passion, but we also want also good behaviour. They’ve got great support here, fantastic enthusiasm, and it’s great to come to a football city where football really matters. That’s what you want. You want the passion and the atmosphere, but you also want good behaviour from our supporters and Olympiacos supporters. It’s a game and we know it’s really passionate but it’s it important every works well together and we end up having a good night. All we want is a good football game. It’s great that we have passionate supporters, but to be a passionate supporter you also have to be a good supporter as well, and that includes our supporters as well. You’re not helping your club, so you have to be passionate and enthusiastic and support your team well, but you’re not doing your club any favours if you’re getting stadium bans or if your team is getting thrown out of Europe, so you want your fans to be well-behaved.”

It’s a fair comment from Moyes – those who misbehave end up ruining it for everyone else. What I will say though is that the majority of West Ham fans have behaved impeccably throughout our recent European campaigns.

In Prague for example, it was just one idiot who threw a vape onto the pitch. And everyone else ends up suffering because of his brain-dead actions.

David Moyes has made it very clear that the West Ham players need the full support of the fans in Europe this season, if we are to achieve any kind of success.

Hopefully those out in Athens do us proud tonight and there are no bad apples that end up spoiling the cart. The last thing we need is for our fans to be banned from travelling to our next European away game.
