You will not believe the fee West Ham reportedly could pocket if Lazio sell Felipe Anderson

Felipe Anderson could earn West Ham United a huge amount of money this month, if Lazio end up selling him.

West Ham sold Felipe Anderson back to Lazio in the summer of 2021 for around £3 million, and we apparently included a 50% sell-on clause in the deal.

Hammers boss David Moyes completely lost faith in the Brazilian during his final season at the London Stadium.

The small fee that we sold him for surprised many, but at least the owners had the foresight to include a sell-on clause in the deal.

Now it seems like that business savvy from the owners could end up earning us millions. Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato reckon that Lazio are curently trying to tie Anderson down to a new deal.

However, if they are unable to do that, it is claimed by the Italian media outlet that Lazio will try to sell him in the January transfer window. And they’re not prepared to let him go on the cheap it seems…

Felipe Anderson could earn West Ham a fortune

Calcio Mercato reckon that Lazio will only sell the winger for a minimum of €20 million this summer (£17.2 million).

If they are successful in selling him for that fee, the Hammers will be in line to receive a whopping £8.6 million. That really would be fantastic wouldn’t it, and it would certainly go a long way to making up for the paltry fee that we moved him on for.

Here’s the thing though, I just can’t see any club paying £17 million for Anderson – he’s out of contract in the summer after all.

The 30-year-old will do one of two things in my opinion – sign a new contract with Lazio, or leave the Italian club on a free transfer in the summer.

Even if he was sold for £8 million, it would be nice to bring in a little £4 million bonus. In truth though, I don’t think we’ll be getting any money.

As mentioned earlier, Felipe Anderson will sign a new deal or leave Lazio on a free transfer, and West Ham most likely will end up with nothing!
