West Ham players are knackered, Tony Gale says only one man to blame after Fulham batter us in Premier League thrashing

Well well well, what a rotten performance that was by West Ham against Fulham in the Premier League this afternoon.

5-0 was a more than fair result, and Fulham fully deserved the three Premier League points they picked up against West Ham.

Hammers boss David Moyes would have been fuming with his players, but the Scot has to take some of the blame as well – his poor man management of his fringe players certainly hasn’t helped matters.

That hasn’t been the only mistake made by the Scot recently though. Tony Gale highlighted one particular problem that Moyes has caused when commentating on the game today.

Gale was on co-comms duty at Craven Cottage, and shared how he believes Moyes could be to blame for the ‘tired’ performance from the West Ham players today…

Fulham spank West Ham in the Premier League

The Hammers players looked dead on their feet at Craven Cottage today. Sure, the games have been coming thick and fast but is there another reason for their fatigue?

Moyes spoke recently about how player fatigue is an issue for West Ham, with so many games to play around this time of the year (Claret and Hugh).

He doesn’t stop banging on about how hard it is to deal with games on Thursday nights and then Sunday afternoons as well.

Here’s the thing though – if you tell someone something regularly enough, perhaps they will start to believe it.

And Gale pointed that out during the game today (Sunday December, 10th, 3:15pm):

“The more he tells his players that they’re tired, the more tired they will be.”

I’m totally with Gale on this one. Moyes should stop talking about how tired his players are and the challenges of Thursday/Sunday games.

Perhaps then, they will just roll their sleeves up and get on with it. West Ham need to turn things around after our Premier League defeat to Fulham today, and fast.

I think a good place to start would be for Moyes to stop droning on about the physical challenges of the festive period.
