Word from the top on David Moyes situation ahead of West Ham’s Premier League clash with Everton

With his future at West Ham in doubt beyond this summer there is word from the top on the David Moyes situation this weekend.

David Moyes takes West Ham to face his old club Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

And it is a rather apt fixture for the manager as speculation swirls over his Hammers future.

Jamie Carragher said this week that Moyes has proved he is a top class Premier League manager with his work at both West Ham and Saturday’s opponents Everton.

But the Sky Sports pundit also believes ‘the time has come’ for Moyes to leave West Ham when his contract expires this summer.

The Hammers face the Toffees off the back of a first win of 2024 on Monday night.

First win of 2024 has not dampened Moyes noise

But that has not stopped claim and counter claim over who could replace the manager at the London Stadium this summer.

The likes of Thomas Tuchel and Gary O’Neil have again been linked with this week.

Meanwhile West Ham continue to be warned – by many Everton fans included – to ‘be careful what you wish for’.

Top source inside West Ham delivers update on Moyes stance

I have spoken to the top source inside West Ham. The key senior contact maintains a very clear stance on the Moyes situation.

And that is no decision will be made until the end of the campaign.

“We review it at the end of the season as we always do,” the top source told Hammers News.

That is a fair approach given what Moyes has done for West Ham.

And it dangles a big carrot for the manager in the remaining months of West Ham’s season.

Exciting end to the season could be key

A journalist exclusively told me this week that there is only one way Moyes remains Hammers boss beyond the summer.

Reports have claimed majority owner David Sullivan has tasked technical director Tim Steidten with lining up potential replacements for Moyes.

It has been stated that people should not underestimate the German’s pulling power if West Ham’s owners do make a change.

If Moyes gets West Ham playing like they did for long spells against Brentford on a consistent basis, then he will give the owners a big decision to make when they come to ‘review’ the situation.
