West Ham director of football Tim Steidten has a really exciting signing lined up for West Ham United it seems.

Tim Steidten was appointed as the director of football at West Ham back in July, and he has made a major impact already at the London Stadium.

Steidten played a key role for the Hammers in the summer transfer window as David Moyes brought in four exceptional new signings – Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Mohammed Kudus.

And now another unbelievably talented player is being linked with a move to West Ham – Piero Hincapie.

West Ham have been linked with the centre-back on numerous occasions already, most recently just last week.

The 21-year-old Bayer Leverkusen defender is an exceptional young talent, and it seems as though Steidten could be set to make his move…

Claret and Hugh – a website with very close links to Hammers co-owner David Sullivan – reckon that Hincapie could be an option for West Ham.

The 27-capped Ecuador international is an elite centre-back, who can also operate at left-back if need be, and he would be a huge statement signing for the East London outfit.

Hincapie is extremely cultured and is very comfortable with the ball at his feet. He is one of the best passers in the game.

In 30 Bundesliga outings last season, Hincapie averaged 1.7 tackles, one interception, 2.5 clearances and two successful aerial duels per game (Who Scored).

During those appearances, the Ecuadorian made 55.7 passes on average per match and recorded a completion rate of 83.2% (Who Scored).

The 21-year-old plays with a real kind of maturity that defies his tender years.

If Tim Steidten manages to bring the Bayer Leverkusen defender to the London Stadium either in January or next summer he will gain legendary status amongst the West Ham fans overnight.
