West Ham vice-chair Karren Brady has been showing off her lavish new kitchen after being unveiled as the fourth best paid director in the Premier League.

It is fair to say Karren Brady will never be the most popular figure among some West Ham fans.

There is a large section of the Hammers fanbase which will never forgive the Baroness for referring to them as clients during an infamous public address.

Others hold a grudge over the club’s move from Upton Park to the London Stadium. Particularly after she proudly – and preemptively – trumpeted it as ‘the most successful stadium migration in football history’.

Then there are her columns in The Sun, which many West Ham fans felt aired too much of the club’s dirty linen in public.

Although it must be said she has not been outspoken on football matters involving West Ham in those columns for some time now.

Whatever your stance, Brady has done a fine job turning around West Ham’s finances

Love her or loathe her, though, it would be remiss not to point out that West Ham haven’t done too badly over the last few years with Brady running the ship.

The Hammers were named as the 16th most valuable football club in Europe last year. And the club boasts the fifth highest average attendance in world football.

There have also been a host of improvements made to the London Stadium with more in the pipeline.

So it is hard to argue she has not done a good job given the financial state the club was in when David Sullivan and the late David Gold took over in 2010.

Well it seems after making several improvements to West Ham’s home, now Brady has made some to her own.

West Ham vice-chair Karren Brady shows off lavish new kitchen after being unveiled as fourth best paid director in the Premier League

West Ham vice-chair Karren Brady has been showing off her lavish new kitchen after being unveiled as the fourth best paid director in the Premier League.

Friend of Hammers News Kieran Maguire, author of the excellent Price of Football books and co-host of the podcasts by the same name, posted a chart showing the Premier League’s highest paid directors this week.

Maguire posted the chart to highlight the fact Spurs chief Daniel Levy is the highest paid Prem director with a salary of nearly £3.3m.

And it also reveals that West Ham’s vice-chair Brady is fourth best paid in the top flight. She earns £2.24m according to Maguire’s chart.

On the same day the chart was posted out, Brady has been showing how she spends some of that money.

‘We managed to achieve a design I really wanted’

OK Magazine has published an article on the West Ham vice-chair’s new kitchen, which features white cabinets, gold detailing, Quartz Valenza worktops and a marble effect wall.

“Karren teamed up with Wren Kitchens to create the incredible design which makes the most of a space on the fifth floor of her London flat,” OK states.

Talking about the makeover, Karren said: “I wanted something that was light, airy, practical, gave an illusion of luxury and space, but didn’t cost an absolute fortune.

“We managed to achieve a design that I really wanted – clean, modern, elegant, and that contained everything practical that you need in a kitchen.”
