That’s vitally important for the Hammers in my opinion. It means that our youngsters will be pitted against the very best youth players in England next season.

In order for our next generation of young stars to improve and develop, testing themselves against the best will be an absolute necessity, if they are to fulfil their full potentials.

Sure, this season hasn’t been a great one, but there are a handful of exceptionally talented under-18 players coming through the ranks who will undoubtedly be promoted to the under-21s next term.

There are very bright times ahead for West Ham, and to relegate Tottenham yesterday was an added bonus.
