The upcoming January transfer window will be a vitally important one for West Ham United.
West Ham manager David Moyes will have to bring in one or two top-class signings if we are to have any chance of maintaining a push for the top six in the new year.

The Hammers have kicked off the 2023/24 campaign in style, both domestically and on the continent. That doesn’t mean that we can’t improve though…

West Ham need to make some January changes
The additions of a centre-forward, a left-back and a right-back would put the cherry on top of the cake as far as I’m concerned.
However, Moyes won’t have lavish funds at his disposal. So it will be important for the Scot to sell before he buys.
A prime candidate for the chop is Danny Ings. The 31-year-old joined the Hammers from Aston Villa in January for around £15 million (Sky Sports).
And unfortunately, that deal has proven to be a colossal waste of money for West Ham.
Ings has scored 123 career goals but only three of those have come for the Hammers – in 30 appearances (Transfermarkt)!

Ings isn’t suited to our system, so ship him out
The former Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool and Burnley front-man is painfully ill-suited to Moyes’s system at the London Stadium.
He only really works when deployed as part of a centre-forward pairing – something that just doesn’t happen at West Ham under Moyes.
It really does baffle me that David Moyes brought Danny Ings to West Ham in the January transfer window in the first place. He was never going to succeed at the London Stadium.
And now he’s just preventing Divin Mubama from getting precious minutes at this stage of his development.
It’s time for Moyes to put that right and sell Ings in January. I’m sure there will be some Championship clubs who are keen to sign him. Even if the Hammers manage to get a couple of million for him, at least that will mean that we get his massive wages off the books.
