One man played a key role during the new contract negotiations with West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen.

Jarrod Bowen put pen to paper on a new seven year contract with West Ham earlier this month.

The 26-year-old has been absolutely on fire this season, with five goals and two assists to his name already (Transfermarkt), and David Moyes will be absolutely delighted with the forward’s form.

The Hammers star has been a completely different animal this term, and that might be to do with the fact that Moyes is trying to get him to make more runs in behind.

Getting him tied down to a new long-term deal was absolutely massive for West Ham. We all knew Bowen loves the club, so him committing his future to us was not a surprise.

And now a top source at the club has lifted the lid on how Tim Steidten played a key role in the former Hull City man signing the new deal…

Claret and Hugh – a website with close links to David Sullivan – claim that Steidten helped the Hammers owners get Bowen to put pen to paper on the seven-year contract:

“Sullivan made it clear to us that Steidten was  also been involved in helping him agree the deal which has kept Jarrod Bowen at the club for another seven years.”

Steidten has worked wonders since moving to the London Stadium on July 1st to become the club’s new director of football.

He played a key role in bringing Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez and Konstantinos Mavropanos to West Ham during the summer transfer window.

Tim Steidten – the best signing of the summer

The German is an absolute miracle worker. Not only has he brought in some top talent, but the speed and efficiency with which he operates is truly remarkable as well.

The Hammers are in a much better place since he was appointed as the club’s director of football.

We are actually operating as a proper football club now it seems, and that’s so refreshing to see.

Jarrod Bowen signing a new long-term contract was evidence of just how far we’ve come, and we have Sullivan and Steidten to thank for that by all accounts.
