West Ham hero Lucas Paqueta has sent a bullish 14-word social media post after goading Olympiacos fans over his winner.

Brazilian magnifico Lucas Paqueta scored for the third consecutive Europa League game to help West Ham to a 1-0 win over Olympiacos on Thursday night.

As a result of the win, the Hammers sit top of group A with knockout European football of some kind guaranteed for a third consecutive season.

Even if West Ham did make hard work of their 1-0 win over the seasoned Greek outfit at times in front of an expectant and anxious London Stadium crowd.

Paqueta’s bullish post after goading Olympiacos

From the get go Paqueta seemed to be the one who was going to make something happen. And so it proved.

In the build-up the likes of James Ward-Prowse and Angelo Ogbonna said they were out for revenge after the way Olympiacos behaved in the reverse fixture. Both in terms of the way the Greek fans treated them and the behaviour of their players as they celebrated the scalp of West Ham behind the scenes.

When Paqueta’s goal was confirmed after an unnecessarily lengthy VAR check, he ran straight over to the away fans to celebrate in front of them.

Paqueta and his teammates really rubbed it in, sparking an angry reaction.

Not in our house

And he gestured to them that they wouldn’t be beating the Hammers in their own stadium by pointing to the floor and then wagging his finger.

And following the game West Ham hero Paqueta sent a bullish 14-word social media post after goading Olympiacos fans over his winner.

In it he doubled down on his celebrations.

“Honor and glory to you Jesus,” Paqueta said alongside a picture of him celebrating in front of the Olympiacos fans with his West Ham teammates as well as praying hands, heart and Hammers emojis.

“This is London Stadium.

“This is West Ham.”

It’s a knockout – again

If West Ham match Freiburg’s results in the last two games they will finish top of the group and advance straight to the last 16 as they have done in the last two seasons.

Finish second and the Hammers will face a Champions League drop-out in a two-legged play-off to make the last 16.

Finish third – which is now highly unlikely – and West Ham will drop down into the Conference League where they would face a two-legged play-off against one of the group stage runners-up.
