So West Ham United have now played their hand regarding the pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug.
German hitman Niclas Fullkrug is someone who’s believed to be West Ham’s main striker target this summer, and it was recently claimed that personal terms and the structure of the fee were still yet to be agreed upon.
That said, new claims emerged today suggesting that he was en route to London in a private jet to finalise his move to the London Stadium.
Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, but a big new update has emerged regarding the transfer saga.
Julen Lopetegui desperately needs to sign a proven striker this summer – someone who can guarantee us 15 goals a season and provide a real focal point for our attacking play.
It’s easy to see why Fullkrug is a top target for the Spaniard.
He was in fine form for Borussia Dortmund last summer, and racked up 15 goals and 10 assists in 43 appearances in all competitions.
The German is a great all-round player, and is well known for bringing his teammates into the game with his excellent hold-up play.
Now West Ham have apparently made a firm offer for Fullkrug, but there’s a potentially very big problem.
West Ham submit official £21m Niclas Fullkrug bid
It seems as though the transfer to bring the Borussia Dortmund ace to the London Stadium may not be as simple as was first thought.
However, the Hammers have made the first official move.

According to Florian Plettenberg, West Ham have made a £21 million offer for Fullkrug – one that includes add-ons.
However, Dortmund could ask for as much as £25 million for the Germany international striker.
It is suggested that West Ham won’t meet those demands, and could pull out of the deal and sign Jhon Duran instead, if Dortmund don’t budge on their valuation.
I’m not sure we should be paying £25 million for the 31-year-old, as good as he undoubtedly is.
£21 million should be the absolute maximum that the Hammers pay for him as far as I’m concerned.
Niclas Fullkrug will be 32 in February, and if Dortmund don’t accept the offer that West Ham have made for him, Lopetegui should move on to other targets.
That said, the former Werder Bremen ace is clear someone who Lopetegui really wants at the London Stadium, so I’m sure this will be a deal that gets done in the end.
