David Moyes has a really big problem on his hands at West Ham United, and he has to address it as a matter of urgency.

West Ham are currently sitting in ninth spot in the Premier League table, we’re in the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup and sitting pretty at the top of our Europa League group, so David Moyes seems to be doing a fine job on the surface.

The Hammers have been putting in some truly turgid displays over the past month or so. The fact that we’re now five games unbeaten in all competitions is truly remarkable, considering the absolute state of some of our performances.

There are plenty of fans who are ‘Moyes out’ and then we have the staunch ‘Moyes in’ brigade as well.

Even those who blindly support the Scot are becoming tired of his dull, tedious and archaic approach to the game.

We have actually been pretty poor all over the pitch in my opinion, but there is one facet of our game in particular that needs to be sorted out as a matter of urgency…

David Moyes is overseeing a hugely worrying trend at West Ham

The Hammers boss needs to sit down and take note of something that seems to be happening over and over again of late.

West Ham have conceded 16 goals in all competitions this calendar year during the 45-60 minute period of the game.

During 2023 to date, the Hammers have let in 69 goals – so we are conceding 23% of our goals during a period that accounts for just 1/6 of the game.

In the Premier League so far this season we have let in eight goals from 45-60 minutes – only Aston Villa (9) have conceded more than us during that period (Footy Stats).

Questions need to be asked about Moyes’s half-time team talks. What on earth is he saying to them? Or is it a player concentration issue?

Whatever is happening needs to be sorted out right now. West Ham have to stop conceding during the 45-60 minute period of the game. In fact, we just need to stop conceding so many goals in general!
