West Ham United are reportedly eyeing up two right-backs in the January transfer window.
The January transfer window is a vitally important one for West Ham manager David Moyes and director of football Tim Steidten.
The Hammers currently have Vladimir Coufal as our only right-back option and despite the fact that he’s been decent this season, Moyes definitely needs to bring in a big upgrade on the Czech Republic international, 31.
West Ham have completely neglected the full-back departments in general over the past few years, and it’s about time that all changed.
The fact that we’re trying to sign a new right-back is no shock at all. However, the two players we are going for may well surprise a few people because they are far from household names…

West Ham eyeing double January deal for two right-backs
According to a report from FootballTransfers, West Ham’s director of football Steidten is eyeing moves for two right-backs in January – AZ Alkmaar’s Yukinari Sugawara and Ulsan HD’s Young-Woo Seol.
The Japan and South Korea internationals are 23 and 25 respectively, so there is a clear vision here from Tim Steidten to really evolve the playing squad at the London Stadium.
As mentioned earlier, getting a right-back through the door this month is an absolute must as far as I’m concerned.
In my view, we need a left-back as well. So with that in mind, it’s interesting to note that although Young-woo Seol is a right-back by trade, he can play on the left hand side as well. Amazingly, he can even operate as a right winger!
Yukinari Sugawara is incredibly versatile as well, and the right-back can play as a central defender as well as a winger.
Both players probably wouldn’t set us back too much cash, and if West Ham sign them in the January window, they will be moves that I will be fully behind.
