West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has been pictured at Royal Ascot for Ladies Day with reality TV star fiance Ampika Pickston.
While West Ham fans were becoming increasingly concerned by speculation Newcastle could beat them to two signings, Sullivan seemed a lot more relaxed as he enjoyed a day at the races.
Moyes has publicly stated he has final say on all transfers but co-owner Sullivan has been West Ham’s de facto director of football when it comes to getting transfer deals done.
Supporters have been critical of Sullivan, Daniel Kretinsky, David Gold and Moyes for failing to make signings in January or as yet in the summer window.
Yesterday a West Ham insider claimed Sullivan has stepped back from transfers, leaving head of recruitment Rob Newman to handle deals (Claret and Hugh).
Well the 73-year-old certainly cut a more relaxed figure as he enjoyed a day out with his partner, who is 32 years his junior.
And West Ham co-owner Sullivan was pictured at Royal Ascot for Ladies Day with reality TV star fiance Pickston.
Sullivan was dressed in top hat and tails while Pickston was sporting a huge bright green hat likened by some to a Peacock.
Sullivan donned his shades and Pickston’s green hat certainly made the couple stand out from the crowd!
The West Ham co-owner, worth over £1bn, looked smart in the traditional get up.
And the duo turned heads as they arrived at Ascot for a day out together having reportedly announced their engagement last year (Daily Mail).
Now Sullivan will be back to the day job of running West Ham with the club expected to announce its first signing of the summer over the weekend as a deal for Nayef Aguerd edges closer.
Let’s hope West Ham are backing a winning horse with the capture of the Moroccan international.
