One West Ham United player has just been spotted training with Jesse Lingard out in Dubai.

Jesse Lingard seemed destined to rejoin West Ham on a free transfer in the summer, but that didn’t happen in the end as the 31-year-old pursued a move to Saudi Pro League club Al Ettifaq instead – a move that also failed to materialise.

Lingard spent four months with the Hammers back in 2021 after David Moyes brought him to the club on loan from Manchester United.

He bagged nine goals and four assists in just 16 Premier League games for West Ham, but stayed with Manchester United for the 2021/22 season, much to everyone’s surprise.

Lingard then joined Nottingham Forest on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, after receiving a more lucrative financial package than the one being offered by the Hammers.

He then left the City Ground six months ago, and has been a free agent ever since. With West Ham missing so many attacking players right now, many are expecting Moyes to make another move for the 31-year-old Englishman.

Whether that happens or not remains to be seen, but Lingard has been mixing with one West Ham player out in Dubai over the past couple of days. Make of that what you will…

Pablo Fornals is out in Dubai right now, and the Spaniard met up with his former teammate Lingard.

Pablo posted the below picture on Instagram, showing him training alongside Jesse out in the Middle East:

Rumours linking Lingard with a London Stadium return will definitely begin to ramp up now, I have no doubts about that.

The 31-year-old hasn’t played a competitive game since April though, so even if we did sign him on a short-term deal, there is no way that he’d be ready to come into the team and make an impact straight away.

I think West Ham should avoid a move for Jesse Lingard at all costs this winter, and try to sign Steven Bergwijn from Ajax instead.

Pablo Fornals posting a picture training with Jesse will undoubtedly set the rumour mill into action though.
