Wait until you see what ex West Ham star Dimitri Payet looks like now after accusations of being unfit and overweight.
Or should that be weight until you see Dimitri Payet now West Ham fans?
It may have been short and ultimately bittersweet but mercurial French star Payet is one of the best players to have ever graced West Ham.
His sudden departure in January 2017 sullied his name with many West Ham fans who had adored him.
The French wizard effectively downed tools to force a return to Marseille nearly seven years ago for family reasons.

They say that time is a great healer and that has certainly been the case with Payet as most Hammers fans now look back with great fondness on his unforgettable 18-month spell in east London. As they say, the streets will never forget.
Payet continued to dazzle back in France but since leaving the Hammers his weight and fitness has been the source of much press.
L’Equipe came out with a cartoon mocking his ‘pudding’ belly as well as an article blaming it on the “stress” of forcing his departure away from West Ham.
Almost every season since, Payet’s fitness has been called into question. In 2020 Get French Football News reported Marseille were concerned by the shape the ex Hammer was in.

Payet hit out at the constant criticism last year when he accused his detractors of using it as a rod to beat him with if he had a bad game.
Well wait until you see what ex West Ham star Payet looks like now after accusations of being unfit and overweight.
The Frenchman ended up making a surprise move to Brazilian side Vasco da Gama in the summer and one look at highlights from their games throws up all kinds of comments about Payet’s fitness as he nears his 37th birthday in March.

But he has undergone a pretty amazing transformation it seems.
Taking to social media, Payet has posted a picture of himself looking in the best shape of his life with the caption: “Work hard.”
The ex West Ham wizard looks ripped to shreds and beefed up. He’s clearly been working seriously hard and all credit to him.
Take one look at him scoring just a month ago in the video below and it’s clear to see he was not in peak shape even then.
It’s a shame how things ended with Payet. But when a player gives you the kind of memories he provided it’s hard not to feel love for the man.
Especially after the midfield maestro revealed he never wanted to leave West Ham but explained why he had to in an interview.
