Vladimir Coufal is unhappy at West Ham United it seems, after a report made a really surprise claim.
West Ham right-back Vladimir Coufal was due to be out of contract at the London Stadium at the end of this season, but he recently penned a new 12-month extension.
The 31-year-old Hammers right-back has actually been in fine form this season, and David Moyes has started him in every single Premier League game – he’s played 90 minutes in all of them as well bar one, where he played 87 minutes (Transfermarkt)!
Coufal has gone from strength to strength for West Ham this season, and it must be said that he’s been one of our best and most consistent performers.
The Czech Republic international joined the Hammers from Slavia Prague in October 2020 for just £5 million, and his love and passion for the club has made him a hugely popular figure at the club.
He seems to love being in East London as well, so with that in mind, it was strange to read the latest claim about him…

Vladimir Coufal unhappy at West Ham
According to a report from the Sun, the Czech defender is ‘extremely unhappy’ at the London Stadium.
Th reasoning for this is because he and his agents apparently feel as though he was deserving of a long-term deal.
And he is now said to be considering his future with West Ham.
I get why Coufal would have wanted a longer term deal – all players are after job security in a career that is notoriously short.
However, the 31-year-old just doesn’t give off the vibe to me that he is unhappy at the London Stadium.
Vladimir Coufal gives his all for West Ham every single time that he takes to the pitch, and that’s all we need to be concerned about as fans.
The Czech Republic international won’t be out of contract with the Hammers until the summer of 2025, by which time he will be 32, closing in on 33. And it will be interesting to see whether he is still at the level required to be playing Premier League football then.
That said, I’m still not fully convinced that there is any truth in the report from the Sun. Only time will tell I guess.
