Video shows the electric high press tactic which that could be about to take West Ham United to a whole new level.
When West Ham struggle David Moyes takes a lot of flak.
And that is because many Hammers fans feel the manager has no legitimate plan B.
As one Telegraph journalist suggested during West Ham’s dismal three-defeat week – ‘when Moyes-ball doesn’t work, it really doesn’t work’.
Ask any West Ham fan one of their biggest frustrations with the team’s approach in certain games, it is Moyes’ risk averse tactics which often see the team sit off in a low block and looking to play on the counter. Regardless of the opposition.
But that could all be about to change.

Video shows electric high press tactic that’s about to take West Ham to a whole new level.
It has long been said that Michail Antonio has had his day as West Ham’s number one striker.
Although a great servant, the soon-to-be 34-year-old dictates that the team play in a certain way. And that is not conducive to a high press – or certainly not an effective one.
When Antonio was dropped for the Arsenal win, Jarrod Bowen started in a new-look forward line with Mohammed Kudus the supporting act.
The results were there for all to see against the Gunners.
If you missed it, though, the video at the bottom of this story captures the new tactic perfectly and shows just how effective it will be – even against the very top sides like Arsenal.

‘I think we all saw something the other night’ Moyes claims Hammers are on brink of major shift
It’s electric, gets the crowd up, unsettles the opposition and means West Ham will be winning the ball high up, where their best players can seriously take advantage.
Given most teams play out from the back in the Premier League now, operating an effective high press is vital.
Moyes believes he and the fans all saw something new unfolding in front of their eyes in that game.
“I think we all saw something the other night,” Moyes said in his latest press conference.
“Was that the reason we played much better? Maybe. I think we’re all looking at it and saying, we’re needing to keep [evolving]. It’s like with anything else, when you talk about moving managers on or moving players on, you have to keep finding new ways.”
It will be fascinating to see how this develops, hopefully starting at Brentford.
Moyes-ball 2.0 is in beta right now. But it really could be the key to unlocking the true potential of this West Ham team.
