David Moyes has made a staggering admission about Lucas Paqueta that will seriously shock West Ham fans.

When Lucas Paqueta rolled his studs over the ball and played that pass it led to that goal West Ham fans will remember forever in Prague.

But when he did the same thing facing in the other direction against Aston Villa two weeks ago, it led to a goal for the opposition.

West Ham’s Brazilian magnifico has always been a player who takes risks on the ball.

Without that you would not get the genius touches, passes and moments like that one against Fiorentina.

Occasionally, though, West Ham fans and manager David Moyes may have to swallow one like up at Villa Park.

You have to take the rough with the smooth. And when it comes to Paqueta, there’s plenty of smooth.

Paqueta was, quite literally, up to his old tricks as he helped orchestrate West Ham’s memorable 3-1 win over Arsenal in midweek.

Some have been critical of Paqueta’s showboating. But when he tried a rainbow flick over Fabio Vieira’s head in the corner against the Gunners it brought one of the loudest cheers of the night from the West Ham fans.

Many would see Moyes as old school as they come. The Hammers boss makes no apologies about wanting his players and teams to show workrate and organisation as much as attacking flair and intent.

Said Benrahma quickly found out there is no room for tricks and flicks without purpose when he first arrived at West Ham.

So many would assume Paqueta’s often risque showboating would drive the Hammers boss to despair.

Well now Moyes has made a staggering Paqueta admission that will seriously shock West Ham fans.

‘I’ve changed’ says Hammers boss

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the Brentford clash – for which Paqueta is suspended – Moyes says he has changed according to Sky Sports reporter James Green.

“One thing I must share with you (after speaking to Moyes),” Green said live on Sky Sports News from Rush Green this evening.

“On Wednesday night we saw Lucas Paqueta showboating a little bit in the game against Arsenal.

“And David Moyes was asked for his thoughts on it. Usually you’d expect David Moyes to go ‘oh I didn’t really like it’.

“But he said ‘I’ve changed, I loved it!’ So maybe he has changed, he enjoyed the Brazilian flair!”

Who says a leopard never changes his spots or you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?

West Ham fans will find out how their team will fare without the Paqueta flair when they head to Brentford on Saturday.
