David Moyes brilliantly shut down a reporter when questioned on the situation at West Ham after a return to winning ways.
Despite being one of the most experienced managers in the game, even David Moyes will have been surprised by the speed at which unrest bubbled to the surface at West Ham over the last week.
Three defeats in seven days and one win in their last six Premier League matches put a dampener on West Ham’s fine start to the new season.
But many Hammers fans were also critical of the style and performances, a common complaint aimed at Moyes during difficult periods of his tenure.
There is no doubt, with the players at Moyes’ disposal, West Ham should and could be playing more exciting, attractive football.

And one result – albeit a fantastic one in the shape of the 3-1 victory over Arsenal to advance to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup – may not change the hearts and minds of all Moyes’ dissenters.
As pointed out here on Hammers News, the wisdom of potentially sacking Moyes at any stage this season has to be seriously called into question. And the defeats last week – if viewed in isolation – were hardly massive shocks.
For Moyes it was simply down to a bad week at the office.
So the Scot didn’t take too kindly to a line of questioning from a Sky Sports reporter following the cup triumph over Arsenal.

‘We’re not doing too bad are we’ Hammers boss in no mood to feed media negativity
Moyes brilliantly shut down a reporter when questioned on the situation at West Ham after a return to winning ways.
The Hammers boss was already irked when reporter Emma Saunders suggested West Ham had benefited from a lucky first goal to get their season back on track.
So when he was asked ‘how important it is that the victory translates into other competitions after a difficult week’ Moyes bluntly shut her down.
“Yea well we’re top of the group in Europe and we’re in the top half of the Premier League so we’re doing not too bad,” Moyes said when questioned by Saunders on Sky Sports.
A short, sharp summary from the manager which is very difficult for anyone to argue with.
