Two reporters claim West Ham want to sell Brazilian in January transfer window

West Ham United are allegedly very keen to sell someone in particular in the January transfer window.

The January transfer window will be a vitally important one for West Ham, with at least one top-class signing needed.

However, Hammers boss David Moyes needs to move some players on as well, in order to comply with FFP rules.

The likes of Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Danny Ings have all been linked with an exit from the London Stadium in January, but a new exit-linked name has emerged today.

Brazilian reporter Andre Hernan has claimed that three clubs in Brazil are keen to sign 21-year-old West Ham centre-back Luizao this month.

And another Brazilian journalist – Gabriel Sa – has claimed that the Hammers will only consider a straight sale rather than a loan, with Botafogo already having made contact about signing him.

West Ham want to sell Brazilian in January transfer window

Luizao arrived at the London Stadium from Brazil this time last year with a big reputation as a highly talented young defender.

However, the Brazilian defender has failed to make any kind of impact whatsoever at the London Stadium.

He is still yet to make an appearance for the senior side, having to make do with 28 outings for the under-21s instead (Transfermarkt).

He was actually seen training with the first-team back in October, but that’s the closest he has come to even getting a sniff of being included in the senior squad.

I find it strange that Luizao hasn’t even been given a single chance yet. Surely there has been a cup game, or even a European dead rubber over the past year that Luizao could have featured in for 15 or 20 minutes. Perhaps Moyes just knows that he’s miles off the pace from having seen him in training.

If that is the case, then West Ham need to sell him in the January transfer window. If he’s not good enough to play Premier League football, then there is no point whatsoever in keeping him at the club for the sake of it.
