Tottenham reportedly could’ve signed Mohammed Kudus for just £8m but West Ham had last laugh

Tottenham Hotspur apparently could have ended up signing Mohammed Kudus instead of West Ham United.

The thought of Mohammed Kudus playing for Tottenham rather than West Ham is an absolutely horrible one, I must admit!

The 23-year-old attacker was brought to the London Stadium from Ajax by Hammers boss David Moyes back in the summer for around £38 million (Sky Sports).

Kudus has gone on to be an absolute sensation for West Ham with 10 goals to his name in just 24 games for us so far, and Rio Ferdinand recently suggested that he could join one of the Premier League giants for in excess of £75 million.

What a player he is. I have no doubts that he’ll continue to get better and better in a Hammers shirt, but things apparently could have ended up very differently indeed…

Tottenham reportedly could have signed Mohammed Kudus

Kudus joined Ajax from Danish side Nordsjaelland way back in 2020. However, he was offered to Spurs for just £8 million that summer according to Tottenham News.

Thankfully, the north London outfit didn’t take up that option to sign the Ghana international. Things would be very different now had they decided to bring Kudus to the club.

I absolutely love Kudus and everything that he’s brought to our club. He is an undoubted superstar in the making, and if he remains in East London for a few more years, we will be capable of achieving anything!

Tottenham already have a pretty dangerous attacking line-up, but it doesn’t bear thinking about just how good they’d have been had they signed Kudus!

It’s a moot point though because West Ham signed Mohammed Kudus, not Tottenham. Sure, we paid £30 million more than what Spurs were offered him for nearly four years ago, but that fee the Hammers laid out for the Ghanaian will end up looking like a bargain in another 12 months time or so.

There’s only one way the 23-year-old is heading and that’s right to the very top, there’s no doubt about that.

The powers that be at Tottenham must be absolutely kicking themselves, and I love to see it!
