Tomas Soucek scored an absolutely magnificent goal for West Ham United against Everton yesterday that ended up winning us the game.
Yes I know that Edson Alvarez scored a third for us, but if Tomas Soucek hadn’t scored a goal for West Ham, Everton wouldn’t have been so open and exposed, and we wouldn’t have been able to hit them on the counter like we did.
Hammers boss David Moyes would have been delighted with the Czech Republic international’s performance – he has been so much better during our last two games.
Soucek was congratulated by his teammates in the changing room after our win over Brentford on Monday night, so can you imagine the reception he got in the dressing room yesterday!
The former Slavia Prague man may not be the best footballer in the world but my word, does he give his all every single time he takes to the pitch for us. That said, the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Mo Salah and Martin Odegaard would have been happy to score a goal like he did yesterday…

Incredible angle of Tomas Soucek goal for West Ham vs Everton
The Hammers fans were sent wild yesterday when Soucek’s superb strike found the back of the net.
It was one of our best goals of the season, and was right up there with Emerson’s strike on Monday.
However, this angle of Soucek’s goal posted on West Ham’s official X account made it look so much better:
Wow, just wow. After seeing that, I think the goal from Big Tom was even better than I first thought.
He gets a lot of criticism from the West Ham fans at times, but I think he deserves more respect.
The Tomas Soucek goal for West Ham against Everton yesterday was quite simply stunning, and the fans went mental when his strike found the back of the net.
However, I really feel like the midfielder deserves our strong support all season long, rather than just when he scores a goal like he did yesterday – he will never give less than 100% for us.
