Stock continues to rise for the man tipped to be a future West Ham boss after Will Still’s side scores a total football wonder goal.

It was not so long ago that David Moyes was facing an uncertain future at West Ham.

Even after leading the Hammers to a first trophy in 43 years back in June.

That kind of speculation has been firmly put to bed by West Ham’s excellent transfer business and start to the new campaign, though.

There do however remain some factions of the West Ham fanbase who yearn – justifiably or not – for a more progressive manager in the mould of a Robert de Zerbi or Xabi Alonso – the Bayer Leverkusen boss linked with the Hammers in the summer.

Moyes-ball serving West Ham well but Hammers will eventually need to think about a successor at some point in the future

Moyes is unquestionably safe as houses for the foreseeable future and presumably for as long as he wants to remain West Ham manager.

But the Hammers will obviously, one day, have to think about an eventual successor.

And one managerial candidate in particular has become an increasingly intriguing option down the line.

You all know the Will Still story by now.

But for those who don’t – Still is the young manager who has taken Ligue 1 by storm with unfancied Reims.

The remarkable story about Still and what he has been doing at Reims is fascinating.

Stock rises for man tipped to be future West Ham boss after Will Still’s side scores total football wonder goal

Hammers News suggested recently that Still is a man worth keeping an eye on for the future post-Moyes at West Ham.

Having repeatedly stated in interviews that he dreams of managing his beloved West Ham, it was no surprise Still was linked as a potential replacement for Moyes during the dark days last season.

Indeed it was even claimed Still was on a six-man shortlist compiled by the West Ham board should they have parted ways with Moyes.

Still put that talk to bed when he signed a new contract with Reims in the summer.

But stock continues to rise for the man tipped to be a future West Ham boss after Still’s side scored a total football wonder goal.

Scintillating display of total football proves West Ham fan Still is no flash in the pan

Reims are fifth in Ligue 1 after a 2-1 win away at Lille last night.

And the goal which turned out to be the winner was a thing of beauty.

A scintillating nine-pass attack of mostly one-touch football was finished off by Keito Nakamura.

It is a goal that would do Pep Guardiola, De Zerbi or total football originators Ajax proud.

Many believed Still would prove to be a flash in the pan.

But Reims’ continued high level of performance and goals like this prove he clearly has something special as a coach.

You can watch the goal in the post below.
