West Ham United’s official site has hinted that new boy Konstantinos Mavropanos will start vs Lincoln and one man will be mightily relieved.
When the darker nights close in you know the English football season is seriously getting underway and that’s the case for West Ham.
There’s no rest for the wicked and the Hammers are certainly that this season.
After their Europa League opener on Thursday night, West Ham were away at Liverpool on Sunday and now face League One Lincoln on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup third round.

West Ham official site hints new boy Konstantinos Mavropanos will start vs Lincoln and one man will be mightily relieved
Like in the European group games, David Moyes tends to make wholesale changes for the domestic cup games.
But it will undoubtedly still be a very useful side given the strength of West Ham’s squad right now.
The team will likely be similar to the side which started the 3-1 win over TSC Backa Topola on Thursday night but with one or two youngsters involved, certainly from the bench.
One £20m fully fledged international will be on show for the Hammers, though, it seems.
Because the West Ham official site has hinted new boy Konstantinos Mavropanos will start vs Lincoln and one man will be mightily relieved.

Greek beast looks set for second Hammers start against Imps
In West Ham’s official preview for the game they have used a picture of the giant Greek defender in training as the main image.
Mavropanos made his first start for the Hammers in the European opener. And if the picture on the preview is anything to go by he’ll get his second against the Imps.
The club site has dropped similar hints in the past so we can read into that choice of image with some confidence.
If Mavropanos does start then a certain Nayef Aguerd will be hugely relieved.
The Moroccan defender has been criticised both directly and indirectly by Moyes of late.

Relief for Aguerd ahead of Prem clash but he must blunt Blades to keep the shirt
Indeed even Jarrod Bowen could not hide his frustrations after the 28-year-old was at fault for all three goals against Liverpool a week after being criticised by Moyes for his defending against Man City.
There have been calls from some West Ham fans to drop Aguerd for the Premier League clash against Sheffield United this Saturday.
Especially in light of Mavropanos’ excellent performance on debut last week.
But if the official site’s hint that the Greek will start at Lincoln does turn out to be true, that will mean he is highly unlikely to be starting against Sheffield United, giving Aguerd a reprieve.
It will then be down to the £30m former Rennes man to up his performance level and keep the shirt.
