Spurs fans absolutely pelted West Ham players with bizarre objects throughout the London derby clash on Sunday evening.

West Ham fell to a hugely damaging defeat at the hands of their bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the last Premier League game of the weekend.

The Hammers went into the match in the bottom three as their relegation rivals seriously start to up their game of late.

Hammers News warned that the Newcastle defeat to Liverpool had given Tottenham a huge incentive to beat West Ham before the match.

Spurs knew a win would put them back into the top four.

And they got it despite missing their manager Antonio Conte and four key players.

West Ham started well and were well organised in the first half. But the Hammers started the second half like they usually start the first, by being sloppy lackadaisical and wide open at the back.

Spurs took an easy 2-0 lead in the second half through Emerson Royal and Son Heung-min without breaking a sweat and coasted to a win.

It means West Ham have only won one of their last 11 Premier League games and now have just 14 in their last 52.

The home supporters took great delight in goading West Ham fans with chants of ‘They’re going down, they’re going down, West Ham’s going down’.

West Ham players were absolutely peppered with elastic bands at throw-ins and corners.

Hammers goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was also a target throughout the match.

When cameras zoomed in the six-yard box was littered with elastic bands as were the corner flag areas.

The bands apparently came from the giant tifo provided by Spurs for fans to pay tribute to record scorer Harry Kane.

There have been some strange objects thrown at matches over the years but this is right up there.

West Ham ended the match with just one shot on target – yet another indication why the Hammers are now looking like a side destined for the Championship unless something changes quickly.
