Something happened against Manchester United that was just as important as the three points for West Ham United.

West Ham beat Manchester United 1-0 at the London Stadium last night, and the three points should be enough to secure our Premier League status for another season.

David de Gea’s glaring error gave the home side the breakthrough, and we were more than deserving of the three points in the end (Sky Sports).

It was a really huge result for the Hammers – that goes without saying. The players looked full of confidence and it was arguably the best all-round performance that they have put in all season.

David Moyes would have been delighted with the shift that his West Ham players put in.

The Hammers have a huge two-legged Europa Conference League semi-final against AZ Alkmaar coming up.

So last night’s win was vital for West Ham because Moyes can now rest players for the Premier League clash with Brentford in between the two ties.

However, most importantly as far as I’m concerned was the fact that we suffered no obvious injury problems last night.

A clean bill of health for the home game against AZ Alkmaar will be absolutely vital if we’re going to give ourselves a comfortable lead heading into the second-leg out in Holland next week.

Moyes should have a full compliment of players to choose from on Thursday night, aside from the injured Gianluca Scamacca of course.

Despite the Hammers’ obvious struggles this season, it could still end up being our most successful campaign for 43 year years. Incredible really isn’t it.

And with that in mind, the fact that none of our players picked up an obvious injury last night was absolutely vitally important for us as a club.
