‘So much quality, so much pace’ Jamie Redknapp raves about West Ham ace during Brighton clash

Jamie Redknapp offered high praise for one West Ham United player during our Premier League clash with Brighton and Hove Albion.

West Ham played host to Brighton in the Premier League tonight, and Jamie Redknapp was very impressed with one of our players in particular.

It was a fairly dull affair tonight, after Hammers boss David Moyes set up his team to sit back deep and allowed Brighton to pass the ball around impotently in front of us.

It was what everyone expected, with Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus, Nayef Aguerd, Kurt Zouma and Vladimir Coufal all missing for the hosts.

Jarrod Bowen led the line for West Ham and he put in a really hard-working performance, as per usual. The 27-year-old played through the middle – a position where Moyes thinks he’ll end up playing at some point in the future.

And Redknapp spoke very highly indeed of the former Hull City man tonight…

Jamie Redknapp praises West Ham man during Brighton clash

Bowen was probably the stand-out performer for the Hammers at the London Stadium tonight.

And Redknapp shared exactly why he rates him so much, when speaking on Sky Sports (Tuesday January 2nd, 8:21pm):

“Jarrod Bowen, when he runs in behind, he’s so difficult to play against. He’s got so much quality, so much pace, and he’s so willing to do this all the time.”

Bowen has gone from strength to strength for West Ham this season, with 13 goals and five assists to his name in 24 games so far (Transfermarkt).

The 27-year-old has proven his worth in his usual right wing position but also as an auxiliary centre-forward.

The £20 million we spent on Jarrod (BBC) has to go down as one of the best value for money deals we’ve made in recent history.

Jamie Redknapp shared what makes Bowen so good during the West Ham vs Brighton game at the London Stadium tonight, and everything he said is absolutely spot on. I look forward to watching the 27-year-old improve for us even further still over the next few years.
