Sky Sports break news of talks for West Ham manager target Mauricio Pochettino with rivals Chelsea this evening.
It is fair to say both West Ham and Chelsea have fallen drastically below expectations this season.
West Ham have gone from fighting for the top six to battling relegation from the Premier League.
While Chelsea find themselves treading water in midtable obscurity.
That’s despite West Ham and Chelsea spending nearly £800m between them – with the Blues’ share said to be over £600m – in the two windows this season.
Graham Potter has paid the price for Chelsea’s shortcomings but David Moyes has managed to keep hold of his job at West Ham.

That has not stopped speculation swirling over Moyes’ future at West Ham beyond the summer, though.
West Ham reportedly have a six-man managerial shortlist as they mull over parting ways with Moyes at the end of the season.
A report has even claimed that agents of potential West Ham summer signings are being told there will be a change of manager at the London Stadium.
One of the names said to be on the West Ham shortlist is that of former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Mail Online claims the Argentine remains very much in West Ham’s sights.
So there could be some bad news emerging from across London for the Hammers this evening.
Because Sky Sports is breaking news of talks for West Ham manager target Pochettino with rivals Chelsea.
Although there may still be hope for the Hammers because Pochettino is said to be one of five candidates being lined up for interviews by Chelsea.
“This is significant breaking news,” Sky Sports Mike Wedderburn said in an evening update.
