The shocking Rangers vs Liverpool result last night is really bad news for West Ham United ahead of next week’s Premier League clash.
The Hammers travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool on Wednesday for what will be a hugely important game for both sides.
Before last night, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds side were in real crisis. They are currently sitting in 10th place in the Premier League table, having gone three domestic games without a win.
The Rangers vs Liverpool clash last night may well have changed all of that though.

Considering Liverpool’s poor run of form, and their injury problems, it seemed as though West Ham may have had the best chance we’ve ever had of winning at Anfield.
That notion may well be wide of the mark though…
Rangers vs Liverpool result is terrible news for West Ham
The Reds traveled to Ibrox last night to take on the Gers in the Champions League.
The tie was set up perfectly, with the Rangers fans doing their best to create a cauldron of noise to make things difficult for the Liverpool players.
Rangers took a surprising early lead, and given the current problems that Liverpool have, it would have been easy for them to fold.
The exact opposite happened though as the Merseyside outfit romped to an incredible 7-1 win.
Mohamed Salah scored a brilliant five-minute hat-trick whilst Roberto Firmino bagged a brace.
Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliot completed the rout for Klopp’s side, and the Rangers vs Liverpool result was an emphatic message that the Reds are back.
What do they say? Form is temporary, class is permanent.
The 7-1 demolition of Rangers came at the worst possible time for West Ham. We are due to take on Liverpool at Anfield next week.

They do have to play Manchester City at home first, so hopefully Pep Guardiola’s magnificent side will put them back in their place.
The Hammers have games at home to Anderlecht and away at Southampton before then as well, and comfortable wins in those two matches should set us up nicely for the Anfield clash.
The Rangers vs Liverpool result could end up being the turning point for Klopp and his players.
Next week’s game at Anfield could be a very tough one for West Ham. And only a few days ago, it seemed like we might have the best chance we’ve ever had of winning there.
Things change quickly in football don’t they!
