And it backfired badly for the 77-year-old former Sky Sports pundit.
West Ham defended absolutely brilliantly against Manchester City.
David Moyes set up his Hammers side with a rigid formation that meant we switched to five at the back without the ball.

Pep Guardiola clearly instructed his Man City team to work the ball from side to side in order to wear us out.
Each and every West Ham player stuck to their task, however.
In the past, we would have lost that game 5-0, especially considering the strength of the side that Guardiola picked.
We are a different animal now, however. That’s all down to David Moyes, his staff and the players’ new-found attitude and mentality.

Said Benrahma scored the winning penalty that booked our place in the quarter-finals and the London Stadium went mad.
What a time to be a West Ham fan! What a team and what a manager!
There are still people who doubt us though…and some of them are so-called pundits.

Marsh could not have been more wrong.
Our second string came in and did the business yet again. Alphonse Areola, Issa Diop, Craig Dawson and Ben Johnson were all brilliant.
West Ham are a real team now.
