Newcastle United are challenging West Ham United in the race to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea this summer.
That’s according to a report from 90 Min who claim that the Hammers could be set for a head-to-head battle with Newcastle for the 22-year-old Chelsea midfielder’s signature.

And it now seems as though the Hammers and the Toon are the two clubs showing most interest in signing the Chelsea star this summer.
Crystal Palace allegedly want to bring him back to Selhurst Park as well (90 Min).

David Moyes and Eddie Howe need to strengthen their respective central midfield ranks and Gallagher would be a sensational addition for either club…
West Ham and Newcastle to battle it out for Conor Gallagher
90 Min reckon that both the Hammers and the Toon are really trying to prise Gallagher away from Stamford Bridge this summer.
It will be a case of whether or not Thomas Tuchel is prepared to let the midfielder leave Chelsea this summer.
The four-capped England international would be a fine addition for either West Ham or Newcastle in my opinion.
Gallagher was brilliant during his loan spell with Crystal Palace last season.

He has bagged eight goals and three assists in 34 Premier League games for Palace (Transfermarkt).
During those appearances, the 22-year-old averaged 2.4 tackles, 1.7 dribbles and 1.3 key passes per game (Who Scored).
He has incredible energy, drive, passion, determination and commitment to the cause. On top of all that as well, Gallagher is incredibly gifted from a technical perspective.
He’s obviously very highly rated at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will demand around £40 million for the 22-year-old’s signature (The Express).
However, it remains to be seen whether West Ham or Newcastle are able to prise Conor Gallagher away from Chelsea for that kind of fee this summer.
