West Ham fans are baffled as to why David Moyes didn’t sign Crystal Palace loanee Conor Gallagher this summer.

The Hammers faithful were mightily impressed with the 21-year-old’s display for the Eagles at the London Stadium on Saturday.

Gallagher joined Palace on a season long loan from Chelsea earlier this summer. And he already looks like an incredibly shrewd addition for the south London outfit.

It could be argued that David Moyes still needs to strengthen his central midfield ranks before the transfer window slams shut.

More quality competition is needed for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek.

On the face of it, Gallagher would have been a superb addition to Moyes’s ranks at West Ham.

Would Chelsea have given the green light to an option to buy clause being included in the deal, however? That is highly doubtful considering the 21-year-old’s talent and potential.
