Arsenal are ready to make an offer for West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta, if the unthinkable happens and we are relegated this season.

West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta only moved to the London Stadium in the summer but he is already being linked with a move Arsenal.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has already been strongly linked with a move to sign West Ham star Declan Rice (The Mirror).

And now Paqueta seems to be on Arsenal’s radar as well…

Arsenal want to sign West Ham ace Lucas Paqueta

According to a report from Fichajes.net, if the Hammers get relegated then the Gunners could swoop in for the 25-year-old this summer.

The Brazilian media recently outlined Paqueta as one of Brazil’s two ‘untouchables’, alongside Vinicius Junior.

So it’s clear just how good the ex-Lyon midfielder is.

However, he has struggled to impress since joining West Ham. He still has a long way to go before he gets up to speed with the Premier League in my opinion.

He dawdles in possession for far too long and he desperately needs to work on the weight go his passes.

Lucas Paqueta definitely has incredible amounts of talent though, Arsenal wouldn’t even be linked with him otherwise.

If West Ham do avoid the drop, one would imagine that Paqueta will have a big part to play.

Should we go down though, it would be no surprise to see him move on.
