David Moyes is under real pressure in his role as West Ham manager, and rightly so – the Hammers have been absolutely awful in the Premier League this season.

We are currently sitting in 18th place in the Premier League table and have never got going at all since the very first game of the season. Surprisingly though, West Ham are one of only three clubs inside the bottom half of the table who have not changed manager this term.

David Moyes and his staff concerned ahead of West Ham vs Southampton
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Moyes and his coaching staff fear that a defeat to the Saints would result in them losing their jobs.
I make them right! It’s good to have that fear because otherwise complacency would undoubtedly set in. Although in fairness, I believe that happened at the London Stadium early on in the season and we have never recovered.

Unfortunately for the fans, the players have not improved from what was a shocking start to the season. Moyes has failed to evolve and mix up his tactics and negative approach to games.
On the rare occasion that Moyes has let the hand-break off, the team has looked so much better. And if the Scot is prepared to do that more often, we should have no problem avoiding relegation down to the Championship.
In order to do exactly that, a win for West Ham vs Southampton will be an absolute must on Sunday.
Let’s hope that Moyes sets his team up in an aggressive, attacking manner. Nothing less than three points will do.
