Boss David Moyes had a heated exchange with Declan Rice and Kevin Nolan after the final whistle of the West Ham defeat to Brighton.

That’s according to a claim made in an article by West Ham insider Sean Whetstone on 6foot2.

After the shocking 4-0 defeat to Brighton at the weekend, Moyes admitted it was the worst performance and result since his return to West Ham in 2020.

Hitting a new low instantly saw a fresh round of speculation on the Scot’s future at West Ham.

Majority stakeholder David Sullivan responded to that talk by telling Hammers News he and the board were still backing the manager.

But he also made it clear he was unimpressed with the display and result.

So too were the club’s hardcore travelling support, who turned on the manager for the first time with three chants which made their feelings perfectly clear.

Hammers News reported on Moyes’ reaction to those chants – which was to climb from the dugout and stare down the away fans while the match was in progress.

Some West Ham fans were also unhappy with captain Rice after the game – although many look to have got the wrong end of the stick regarding comments he made.

Now a report claims boss Moyes had a heated exchange with Rice and Nolan after the final whistle of the West Ham defeat.

6foot2 also noted the manager appearing to make a point to the away fans and claims there were “heated words” between Moyes, his captain and assistant Nolan.

“David Moyes is said to have been distracted looking at the away crowd instead of the game before briefly shaking his head before turning back to the game according to one eye witness at the game against Brighton,” 6foot2 reports.

“It is also claimed that both Kevin Nolan and Declan Rice had heated words with the manager after the final whistle but no-one seems to know what was said.”

TV cameras showed Moyes storming straight down the tunnel after shaking the hand of Brighton assistant Andrea Maldera following the final whistle.

So it is not clear whether this claim refers to an exchange in the tunnel or behind the scenes following the damaging defeat.
