A picture has emerged of Gianluca Scamacca that will fill West Ham fans with rage as the striker trends on Twitter.
It is fair to say Scamacca’s debut season with West Ham has not worked out for him or the club.
The Hammers appear to have another Sebastien Haller situation on their hands where David Moyes simply cannot – or will not – use a system which gets the best out of their £35m striker.
Despite being available for the last few weeks, Scamacca has barely been used by Moyes.
And that continued in the damaging 1-1 draw at home with Aston Villa on Sunday.
The 6ft 5in Italian did not come on during the 4-0 defeat to Brighton. And many assumed Moyes was holding him back to start in Europe against AEK Larnaca.

But he was named on the bench for that game too.
Unverified gossip has suggested Scamacca has had a fallout with Moyes behind the scenes.
And the Scot has done little to dismiss that talk, with his pre-Villa comments suggesting he has not been impressed with the 24-year-old in training.
He was named on the bench yet again as Villa came to the London Stadium.
But with West Ham in desperate need of wins to stay in the Premier League, many assumed Scamacca would come on in the second half.
Especially with the game tied at 1-1 and the visitors there for the taking. And especially given Michail Antonio was absent yet again through injury.
Instead Moyes elected to bring on winger Maxwel Cornet in place of the painfully slow Danny Ings, who touched the ball just 10 times all game.
It is fair to say Hammers fans were absolutely incredulous at the decision from the manager.
Moyes explained his Scamacca decision after the game and again criticised the forward’s “output” and “data”.

Picture emerges of Gianluca Scamacca that will fill West Ham fans with rage as striker trends on Twitter
Overnight a picture emerged of Scamacca that will fill West Ham fans with rage as the striker trends on Twitter.
A West Ham fan captured a picture of Scamacca on their phone sat on the floor watching on as he came to terms with the fact this was another game where he was going to be an unused substitute in a team desperate for a goal.
The sad image saw a wave of support for the striker and angry reaction towards Moyes.
So much so that the hashtag ‘FreeScamacca’ was trending on Twitter in the UK last night.
But unless there is a dramatic change in stance from Moyes it seems the only way the Italian will be “freed” is if he is sold this summer, with a move back to his homeland a constant source of speculation of late.
It is an enduring image of West Ham’s dismal season. And, as one fan neatly summised, if Monday morning were a picture…
You can see the Scamacca image in the post below.
