Paul Merson has championed the idea of Vincent Kompany taking over from David Moyes as manager at West Ham.
Vincent Kompany is one of the men to have been mooted for the West Ham job, should David Moyes get sacked, and Paul Merson is the latest to suggest the Belgian for the London Stadium hot-seat.

The Hammers have been absolutely awful this season, and despite our win yesterday, we are still in real danger of getting relegated.

Moyes has got a lot of things wrong this season, and it would be no surprise to see him leave the London Stadium in the summer, regardless of whether we go down or stay up.
Meanwhile, Kompany has been absolutely ripping it up in charge of Burnley in the Championship. The Clarets are 11 points clear at the top of the table.
And the 36-year-old is surely destined for bigger things…
Paul Merson makes Vincent Kompany claim with West Ham manager David Moyes under fire
The well-renowned football pundit was speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday yesterday.
And Merson discussed the possibility of Vincent Kompany taking over from David Moyes at West Ham:

“If West Ham come calling for Vincent Kompany, does he go to West Ham? What are Burnley going to do when they go up? In management, you have got to make hay whilst the sun shines. We see when they went to Manchester City the other week and got beat by six. I know Manchester City can beat anybody six. After ten games in the Premier League with Burnley, they could go – West Ham is a big club. But I am thinking right now.”
I would absolutely love Vincent Kompany to take over at West Ham.
Some of the football that he has his Burnley side playing is truly unbelievable.
With the amount of quality players currently at the London Stadium, I believe that the Belgian could work absolute wonders.
Whether the West Ham board are prepared to sack Moyes remains to be seen though.
