Paul Merson has delivered his verdict on West Ham United potentially appointing Mauricio Pochettino at some point.
West Ham beat Nottingham Forest this afternoon 4-0 at the London Stadium, and that result will alleviate some of the pressure on David Moyes.

There were strong rumours before today’s game that Moyes would lose his job if the Hammers failed to beat Forest today.

Pochettino is allegedly someone who is keen on the West Ham manager’s job.
Merson believes that the highly rated Argentinian might be out of our reach though…
Paul Merson delivers verdict on Mauricio Pochettino taking West Ham job
The 50-year-old is currently out of work, and his family still live in London.
So the ex-Tottenham man taking the Hammers job wouldn’t be completely outside the realms of possibility would it?
One Sky Sports pundit believes that it actually would…
Merson responded when asked by Jeff Stelling whether Pochettino would be a good fit at West Ham (Sky Sports’ Gillette Labs Soccer Saturday, 12:25pm):

“No disrespect, but I would be shocked if Pochettino took that job at the moment, where West Ham are.”
I have to agree with Merson there, and it’s not too often I say that!
Let’s face it, it’s a moot point now isn’t it. The win over Nottingham Forest today will most likely keep Moyes in the job for another few weeks at least.
West Ham appointing Mauricio Pochettino in the summer would be an absolute dream. Andros Townsend recently labelled Pochettino as ‘the best manager in the world’ ahead of the likes of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp (talkSPORT).
As things stand though, I just can’t see it happening.
Hopefully Moyes comfortably keeps us up in the Premier League, and then we part ways with him in the summer.
