Elite manager Mauricio Pochettino wants in at West Ham but Rafa Benitez is being ruled out after a seismic shift.

That’s according to reports doing the rounds that are quoting sources close to Pochettino and West Ham.

There have once again been growing calls for David Moyes to be sacked following the defeat to rivals Spurs at the weekend.

The Hammers are in the bottom three and staring relegation in the face having won just five of their 23 games this season.

West Ham must now somehow win five or six of their remaining 15 matches to survive.

Worryingly, there has been little evidence to suggest the team are capable of such a turnaround with Moyes at the helm having picked up just 14 wins in their last 51 Premier League matches across this season and the second half of last term.

The likes of Pochettino, Benitez and Carlos Corberan have been linked as potential replacements for Moyes with some claiming the Scot could be sacked if West Ham do not beat Nottingham Forest in a relegation six-pointer this weekend.

It was previously reported that West Ham had made genuine approaches to sound out former Spurs boss Pochettino.

But The Daily Mail claims Pochettino rejected the alleged interest from the Hammers.

Meanwhile out of work Benitez is reportedly keen on the job should it become available.

Now elite manager Pochettino wants in at West Ham but Benitez has been ruled out after a seismic shift.

According to Football Insider, sources close to Pochettino say he is now ‘keen’ on the West Ham job.

And the report states the ‘Hammers board are aware that he is available and interested’.

“Mauricio Pochettino would be “keen” on taking over from David Moyes at West Ham, sources have told Football Insider…” the report states.

“Football Insider understands that the West Ham board are aware of Pochettino’s availability and he is said to be interested in taking the job.”

Meanwhile, website Claret and Hugh has denied claims West Ham have “reached out” to Benitez and state he is not a target for the Hammers hierarchy.

If there is even the slightest chance West Ham can get Pochettino in then they must not hesitate for a second.

He would transform the team and club and would have serious pull in the transfer market too.

A complete no-brainer if ever there was one.

Last month a leading Spurs website claimed Pochettino would reject West Ham because he is being lined up for a return to Tottenham in the summer.
