West Ham United face stiff competition from Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window for one of our key targets.
And Forest appear to have got the jump on West Ham by making the first official move.
Julen Lopetegui has signed three players already in the summer transfer window but he needs to bring in at least three or four more new additions, if he’s to achieve any kind of success this season.
One area in particular where the Spaniard really does need to strengthen before the window slams shut is his left-wing department.
Lopetegui desperately needs to sign a right-footed left winger this summer, with Said Benrahma having joined Lyon on a permanent deal.
West Ham are crying out for more balance down the left, and the likes of Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus are far better centrally in my opinion.
The perfect player is actually out there for us, but Nottingham Forest have seemingly made the first move for him…
Forest to cause West Ham a summer transfer window problem
The East Midlands outfit are thought to be moving into position to sign someone who’s been linked with a move to the London Stadium all summer long.
So now we will see if the Hammers really want him or not.

According to a report from O Jogo, Forest have taken the lead in the race to sign Jota Silva, by making an official offer for him.
The amount offered by Forest has not been disclosed, but O Jogo do insist that his release clause still stands at £16.8 million.
The 24-year-old is someone who’s been on the Hammers radar since May, and that doesn’t surprise me at all given his quality.
However, It was actually claimed a few weeks ago that West Ham had pulled out of the race to sign the right-footed left winger.
Maybe Forest’s bid for him will kick the Hammers into gear – I think we should be all over a deal for Silva this summer.
The attacker was in fine form out in Portugal last season, with 15 goals and seven assists to his name for Vitoria de Guimaraes.
He possesses impressive technical ability and decent pace, has a wicked delivery on him and a real eye for goal.
West Ham cannot allow Nottingham Forest to win the race for Jota Silva in the summer transfer window as far as I’m concerned.
I’m hoping to see the Hammers make a counter-offer for the Portuguese ace imminently.
