New £38m man Mohammed Kudus shows West Ham United a surprise string to his bow with a beautiful goal for Ghana.

There is no question over West Ham’s most exciting bit of business over the summer transfer window.

When Tim Steidten went to Amsterdam and returned with Edson Alvarez supporters never dreamed the Hammers would return to successfully raid Ajax for a second time for the hugely coveted Mohammed Kudus.

The Ghana star was linked with West Ham as far back as October last year – as first reported by Bild and covered here on Hammers News at the time.

But with Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and – late in the day – Saudi clubs also interested, Hammers fans could be forgiven for doubting whether Kudus would end up at the London Stadium.

He did, though, in a £38m deal, much to the delight of everyone connected with West Ham.

Ajax’s manager has admitted he, his side and the club’s fans are already sorely missing Kudus.

And it’s easy to see why.

Hammers fans are excited by Kudus’ power, dribbling, pace, skill and explosive shooting.

But many probably didn’t realise he has another very special talent to add to West Ham’s armoury.

Because Kudus shows West Ham a surprise string to his bow with beautiful goal for Ghana.

The 23-year-old is playing in an African Nations qualifying decider for the Black Stars on Thursday evening against Central African Republic.

The hosts found themselves 1-0 down.

But then up stepped Kudus with a free-kick his new West Ham teammate James Ward-Prowse would be proud of.

Hammers fans may not have realised Kudus has free-kicks in his locker too.

And it seems Ward-Prowse has some serious competition as he bent in a wonderful left-footed equaliser from the edge of the box.

You can see the goal below. We’re sure you, like us, cannot wait to get a proper look at him in the claret and blue after the international break.
