Michail Antonio says Arsenal would have beaten West Ham had one man been playing

Michail Antonio has just suggested that Arsenal would have got three points against West Ham last week if one man had been playing for the home side.

West Ham beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates last Thursday – a game that Michail Antonio missed through injury.

Hammers boss David Moyes masterminded a brilliant performance from his team, and we were more than deserving of the three points.

However, some Arsenal fans were moaning about the fact that our first goal should have been disallowed because the ball went out of play before Jarrod Bowen cut it back for Tomas Soucek – it’s since been proven by beIN Sports that it was in fact IN play.

What made the result even more impressive was that we were without Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd, and we lost Lucas Paqueta midway through the first-half.

Antonio missed the match as well, and has been out injured since mid-November after picking up a knee problem whilst away on international duty with Jamaica.

During that period, Mikey has been participating on his podcast as he regularly does, and the 33-year-old has made yet another questionable comment about our result against the Gunners…

Michail Antonio says Arsenal would have beaten West Ham had one man been playing

The Hammers forward has caused plenty of controversy with some of the remarks he has made on his podcast – and he was criticised for saying certain things by Gabby Agbonlahor.

Now the striker has been at it again, telling Footballer’s Football Podcast how Arsenal could have beaten West Ham:

“I believe that to Arsenal he is worth £100m. I believe that if he was at Arsenal when they played us they would’ve won that game. He’s just that guy who’s always there, he’s always in the right place and that’s what they are missing from their title race, they need a striker who can get them 20 goals, and I believe if he goes to Arsenal he will get 20 goals. The difference I would say between him, Jesus and Nketiah, I don’t believe he can drop deep as much as Jesus or Nketiah, but, in my eyes, to Arsenal, he’s worth £100m.”

I’m sure he doesn’t mean it, but when he says things like that it just comes across so badly in my opinion.

West Ham were more than deserving of the win against Arsenal, and despite what Michail Antonio says, I don’t think they’d have beaten us if they had Kylian Mbappe playing for them that night, let alone Ivan Toney!

The Hammers defended brilliantly and were clinical when we had chances to score. Arsenal didn’t threaten us at all on the night.

And I just don’t think Antonio should be suggesting that we’d have been beaten by the Gunners if Toney would have been playing for them.
