West Ham United forward Michail Antonio has been speaking about Manchester United star Scott McTominay.
Scott McTominay single-handedly saved Manchester United in their last match against Brentford, and West Ham ace Michail Antonio has praised the Scot’s quality.

The 26-year-old Man United midfielder has been in superb form recently for both club and country, and Hammers boss David Moyes is most likely looking at him with a real sense of regret.

He remained at Old Trafford in the end though. In spite of that, Erik ten Hag has hardly played him, with just two Premier League starts to his name this term.
Last time out for Man United, McTominay was brought on as an 87th minute substitute during their home clash with Brentford.
The Scotland international bagged two injury time goals to win the match for his team. He earned rave reviews for that performance and over the past week or so, he’s been on fire for Scotland as well.
Michail Antonio makes big Scott McTominay transfer claim
The 33-year-old Hammers striker has suggested that his club were in for the Man United man in the summer.
Antonio praised McTominay, when speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast:

“Obviously you can see the quality he has. Obviously we wanted to take him in the summer…there were rumours that we wanted to take him, I don’t know if there was truth to it or not.”
Sure, Antonio clarified his comments after by saying they were rumours. I just get the feeling that he knew we were genuinely in for McTominay though.
I think that Manchester united midfielder would have been a fabulous player for us. I feel like he would have been the ideal candidate to come in and play the Tomas Soucek role, and he’d have certianly been a big upgrade on the 28-year-old Hammer.
It remains to be seen what happens with the Scotland international. Will he stay at Old Trafford and continue to fight for his place, or will he leave for pastures new in the January transfer window?
Michail Antonio is clearly a huge fan of Scott McTominay, just like David Moyes is. And it wouldn’t surprise me one little bit to see West Ham try to sign the Manchester United midfielder again either in January or next summer.
